From a young age, Pastor Rousier Sino has had the hand of God upon his life. Kidnapped by a woman selling coffee and bread on the road, Rousier found himself running away and back home to an angry father. He soon after became lost on his way to school one day and eventually forgot his name, his age, and everything about himself. He was taken in by a man that took him to the UN military between 1994-1996 and the UN brought him to an orphanage where he was raised. With many obstacles stacked against him, like not being able to take a government test due to not having a birth certificate, Rousier named himself and decided to take matters into his own hands. As he continued to grow, he was sent to the North West on a mission trip (not realizing he would end up there years later.) In 2007 Rousier felt he was called to leave where he grew up and have things done in his own way, but God had other plans. God spoke to Rousier, telling him to return to North West, Mare-Rouge. In 2008 he returned and served as a youth leader in a church for two years while also teaching preschoolers and the English language. Again, Rousier wanted to do things his own way and left in 2009. God told Rousier, “Go back to where I called you to be.” So, the same night Rousier heard the Lord speak to him, he got on a bus and headed straight back to Mare-Rouge in spite of some of his buddies mocking him for answering the Lord’s call. A few days later, a devastating earthquake happened in the place from where he had just left. Rousier praised God for His faithfulness and for calling him out of that place. Later, in 2010 Rousier felt called to take a wife and married Madame Sino (Connie). God really took care of the Sinos and blessed them with many children and friends. In 2014 Pastor Rousier Sino met missionaries Carolyn and Terry Routon and began to work alongside them with Psalm 133 Ministries and Haitian pastors and churches. In 2017 the Lord called Pastor Rousier to start a church as there was a great need for preaching the truth of the power of God in us, in our lives, and the lives of others. Three years later, in 2020, Rousier’s heart was heavy as he witnessed many children not having the opportunity to go to school and their parents were so desperately in need. It grieved Rousier that the truth of the Word of God wasn’t being taught in Haitian schools and that the love of their country was not being taught either. It was then that the Haiti “School of Light” was born and God has been sending provisions in so many ways and has abundantly blessed the endeavors of Haiti School of Light ever since. Pastor Rousier says he is looking forward to seeing what God will do this upcoming year and he is so grateful for friends and for the blessings of God in his life.
